In order to prevent harmful organisms from being introduced into our country with wood packaging of inbound goods and protect our forest and ecological environment, it is very important to do a good job in the quarantine work of wood packaging of inbound goods. So what should we pay attention to in the inspection of wood packaging of inbound goods?


1. Prepare before inspection


On-site customs according to the control instructions, the owner will need to check the container to the inspection shed, customs according to the needs of the operation to prepare quarantine equipment.

2. On-site inspection


Inspection focus: container shipped goods, on-site customs should supervise the opening of the door, to prevent the spread of harmful organisms. If it is transported to a designated place for quarantine or pest control, necessary measures shall be taken to prevent the spread of the epidemic. The ship's cushion wood shall be quarantined by the inspection and quarantine personnel before or during unloading.


Spot check proportion: according to the inspection instructions, and combined with the actual situation, increase the proportion of spot check and inspection. For example, the integrity of the enterprise is poor, or signs of harmful organisms are found in the process of on-site quarantine.


Quarantine contents: whether there is a special IPPC mark, whether the content of the special mark meets the requirements, whether the pest control treatment method indicated in the mark meets the requirements, whether there are live pests, and if the suspicious situation is found, mark and take samples to the laboratory for inspection, and take close-up photos or videos.


3. On-site sample collection


Sampling process: For wood packaging without live insects or disease symptoms, representative samples will be selected and sent to the laboratory for quarantine according to the principle of random sampling. For wood packaging where live insects and disease symptoms are found, samples of parts with signs of harm shall be collected.


Sealed sample: put it in a sealed bag and label it. The label should indicate the relevant information of the sample in detail.

4. Preliminary identification of pests


After collecting samples, preliminary identification of the found pests was carried out with the help of relevant tools, and then all the pests found on site were sent to the laboratory for identification.


5. Handling quarantine situation


There are IPPC special mark: spot check and quarantine, no live pests found, to release; If live pests are found, the Notice of Inspection and Quarantine treatment shall be issued to supervise the owner and his agent to carry out pest control treatment on wood packaging.


There is no IPPC special mark: issue "Inspection and Quarantine Treatment Notice", supervise the owner and his agent to carry out pest control treatment on wood packaging.
