Generally speaking, the consignee entrusts the customs clearance of the port of destination to make the ISF declaration. Under normal circumstances, our company will first declare AMS, and then provide the information to the customer after success, so that the customer can entrust the United States customs clearance to make ISF declaration within the specified time. However, in the process of CIF and FOB trade terms, delayed ISF declaration or wrong declaration often occurs.

The main reasons are as follows:

Import safety declaration

1, the shipper is only responsible for the delivery to the dock or warehouse, only concerned about the customs clearance of the export port, that the destination port of customs clearance has nothing to do with their own;

2. The consignee is responsible for customs clearance at the destination port, but does not know which forwarder the consignor uses, so AMS information cannot be obtained in time, resulting in delay in ISF declaration;

3. Since the ISF declaration requires the consignee to sign the POA(Declaration of Power of attorney) authorization, some forwarders will contact the consignee by themselves, but the consignee will certainly not sign the POA authorization declaration for unfamiliar forwarders.

4, the consignee itself does not understand the United States import customs clearance procedures, and even does not know what information they need to provide for imported goods to the United States.

Therefore, the person who is looking for freight forwarder transportation must understand the whole process of customs clearance in the United States, otherwise it will be prone to disconnect, resulting in unnecessary trouble and costs.

Who declares ISF information for goods exported to the United States?

Generally, it is best for our company to provide ISF service for the goods shipped by us. The shipper needs to provide ISF Cargo Information Form and Letter of Guarantee and POA(US Import Declaration Power of Attorney) signed by the consignee. The information form, letter of guarantee and POA must be submitted to our company 72 hours before the ship leaves.

The following points should be noted:

1, ISF cargo information form will be the sole basis for declaration to the US customs, do not write, please provide the corresponding electronic version;

2. Please fill in all contents of the cargo information form completely and ensure that the contents are correct. Any responsibility caused by missending or missing information has nothing to do with our company, and your company shall bear the relevant costs by itself;

3, the information form and the letter of guarantee must be stamped with the official seal of the domestic shipper and freight forwarding company, POA(US import declaration power of attorney) needs to be signed by the consignee, and submitted to our company 72 hours before the ship leaves.

4. The ISF information sending fee is USD45/ ticket. If the information is delayed or changed after sending, the fee will be incurred.
