In order to realize the dream of "made in India" as a big country, India has worked hard to come up with one method after another, which never stops. In June this year, in order to strengthen India's manufacturing plan, Modi put forward an upgraded version of India's manufacturing plan "atmanirbhar Bharat". Through economic development, helping small and medium-sized enterprises, promoting infrastructure construction, improving business environment, and realizing self-reliance driven by technology, its main purpose is to reduce imports and expand exports.

Therefore, in June this year, the Indian government launched a campaign to boycott Chinese products by taking advantage of the border conflict between China and India. From 100% inspection of all goods originating in China at ports to the prohibition of 59 mobile phone applications in China, the Indian government has the potential to drive out Chinese products in an all-round way.

Recently, the Indian media has revealed that the Indian government will enforce Indian Standards (is) on 370 categories mainly from China, including toys, steel, steel pipes, electrical products, telecommunication products, heavy machinery, paper, rubber and glass. This will have a significant impact on products that do not meet Indian Standards.

According to the official news of India, the Indian government is speeding up the process to meet the Indian manufacturing plan "atmanirbhar Bharat" proposed by India to achieve the goal of reducing imports and expanding exports.

Pramod Kumar Tiwari, BIS head of the Indian Bureau of standards, said: India's Ministry of Commerce has determined tariffs on 370 catalog products, including Chinese products. We are working to speed up the establishment of these mandatory standards to strengthen import requirements, including goods from government operated ports such as kandla, jnpt and Cochin.

At the same time, Pramod Kumar Tiwari stressed: there is no requirement for low-quality products with relatively small import quantity, but mandatory standards for most products will be issued before March 2021. BIS will send relevant personnel together with customs officers to carry out on-site inspection of the goods at the port.

In addition, BIS will also strengthen the supervision and inspection of India's domestic market. It plans to increase the number of factory inspections from the current 20000 times in 2019-2020 to more than 100000 times this year. At the same time, it will also carry out strict inspection on the product packaging such as the country of origin identification, production date, product validity period, etc., and India's national standards will be established from then on.
